Carpenter's Latrobe Specialty Metals operations, based in Latrobe, Pa., manufacture high-performance specialty alloys serving aerospace, energy and other demanding markets. Carpenter acquired Latrobe in 2012 to increase capacity to meet strong customer demand and to broaden the company's product mix. Material Coordinator

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Coordinate the availability of sufficient and appropriate material for application to Primary and finish orders to meet production schedules and achieve defined performance goals.
  • Resolve any discrepancies pertaining to inventory and provide back-up for Billet Provider.
  • Monitor material flow and record information on material received.
  • Monitor, inspect and take corrective action on material with visible substandard quality.
  • Coordinate with production, scheduling and technical personnel on changes to order requirements, initiate order changes and update paperwork and systems.
  • Verify availability of material for upcoming cycles, expediting or substituting material as necessary to meet production schedule.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One or more years of planning or scheduling experience
  • Ability to operate a computer workstation and the related hardware and software
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions
  • Ability to work under frequently changing priorities
  • Ability to work in a production oriented environment
  • Ability to work under moderate supervision
  • Problem solving skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills
