POSITION SUMMARY

Direct & oversee the management of the Facilities Department and construction of projects, through scheduling, timekeeping and assignment of work. Oversee and anticipate the repair and maintenance of SSRC building's facilities. Manage all aspects of project design, coordination & construction. Oversee and prioritize the weekly work done in the Facilities department. Coordinate maintenance and construction projects with contractors, including getting bids and seeing the projects through completion. As part of the leadership team, ensure understanding and compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements. The Director of Facilities & Construction will oversee planning and budgeting of large-scale capital projects such as new building construction, additions to existing buildings and remodels for SSRC.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Prioritize work and assignments to staff. Delegate work requests to appropriate parties
  • Direction of Facilities and construction staff
  • Manage scheduling of staff and projects based on business/ project needs.
  • Planning, development and construction of SSRC projects
  • Ensure that all staff are using appropriate PPE, following OSHA guidelines, and adhering to company policies
  • Ensure compliance with all building codes and safety regulations
  • Oversee and work with water purveyor to ensure water facilities
  • Work scope could include after hours contact in emergency situations
  • Verify payroll procedures and timekeeping
  • Direction of CMMS Manager and platform upkeep
  • Ensure that all documentation is complete and correct
  • Serve on planning team and assist with project planning/ budgets
  • Direction of 3rd party contractors and billing
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a working knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, fire suppression system, alarms and controls, air compressors, circulating pumps, general plumbing applications, basic carpentry, basic electric, food and beverage equipment and general building maintenance. Also basic ability to maintain and repair locking and latching mechanisms
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Minimum 5 years' experience doing commercial maintenance
  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Communicate clearly in English, both verbal / non-verbal, and written
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company's Service Excellence standards
  • Must have valid driver's license without limitations or restrictions and meet company's insurability standards (will be required to complete Motor Vehicle Record)
  • Employment for this job is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent


The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on a range of factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives.

Steamboat area base salary range: $90,000 - $100,000 per year

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be minimum 18 years of age
  • Must be able to ski or snowboard at a minimum intermediate level
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, climb under equipment, lift, push, pull large equipment such as ovens and dishwashers; able to work in confined area
  • Willing to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to safely operate company motor vehicles
  • Must be able to travel around the mountain in inclement conditions
