What You'll Do



Summary/Objective:

The Mortgage Processor II is responsible for managing a pipeline of all loan types, including first mortgage refinance, purchase and/or home equity loans, while serving as the primary point of contact for members and potential members throughout the loan application process.

    • Review, analyze, and process all files as required in order to prepare files for underwriter approval. Processing scope includes, but is not limited to, the obtaining, inputting, verifying and updating of data in the appropriate software applications pertinent to: applicant membership eligibility, credit reports, employment, income, assets, taxes, insurances, collateral valuations, flood certifications, lender and third-party fees, rate locking, title work, HMDA and Adverse Actions.
    • Communicate proactively with members in a fast-paced environment, both verbally and in writing, update applicants on the loan status, obtain additional information and documentation, and advise and coordinate event scheduling.
    • Coordinate with multiple parties (members, underwriters, closers, appraisers, attorneys, and other vendors) to obtain services and resolve issues, while adhering to established department timelines regarding pipeline progression.
    • Ensure that all loan notifications and disclosures are complete, accurate, and distributed to applicants in a timely fashion as required.
    • Pre-underwrite and process loans according to Automated Underwriting System (AUS) feedback certificate and secondary market standards.
    • Maintain knowledge of secondary market guidelines, product & pricing changes, and DCU policies and procedures.
    • Maintain knowledge of compliance laws applicable to first mortgage loan originations, including but not limited to: Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Regulation Z (Truth In Lending, Know Before You Owe), Regulation C (Home Mortgage Disclosure Act - HMDA), and other state and federal laws which may be applicable.
    • Maintain knowledge of all credit union products and services for the benefit of cross-selling to members or potential members.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
    • Review purchase and sale agreements, order mortgage insurance when necessary, enforce rate lock and extension policy, and perform other first mortgage-related processing.
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Manager (s).





What You'll Need




  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of mortgage or related experience
  • Technical skills (word, excel, outlook, etc.)
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Requires compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations.
