Revenue Accountant

The Revenue Accountant is responsible for confirming revenue is accurately recorded and reported in accordance with relevant accounting standards. The scope of this job includes reviewing and entering data for contracts, agreements and price quotes, processing client invoices, and initiating software support renewals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze revenue transactions for validity and accuracy and verify that revenues recorded meet the requirements of relevant GAAP accounting standards.
  • Review contracts and agreements to determine revenue recognition criteria and initiate milestone and reoccurring invoicing.
  • Perform month-end close processes including preparing and posting journal entries.
  • Prepare and present financials to management and support internal finance teams with ad hoc requests.
  • Partner with internal teams and business partners to define, establish, and implement compliant accounting processes and procedures.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 2-4 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with accounting for contracts with customers (i.e. ASC 606)
  • Experience with revenue related balance sheet reconciliations
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel

Job Expectations:

  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed
  • Must work in accordance with applicable security policies and procedures to safeguard company and client information
  • Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time
