Location: McKim & Creed offers a flexible working environment to promote a healthy work-life balance. This position is available in our Mid-Atlantic region offices to include Charlotte, Raleigh, Wilmington, Asheville, Greenville SC office, or our Atlanta, GA office.

Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineering Designer will be responsible for electrical design efforts and works within the project team for the completion of engineering projects focused in the municipal water and wastewater field. Typical projects will include water and wastewater treatment plants, wastewater pump stations, booster pump stations, or similar related municipal utility infrastructure. The Electrical Engineering Designer will coordinate with the project manager and other staff to assist in completing project tasks within a specified budget and schedule.

WHAT TO EXPECT DAY-TO-DAY:



  • Must be able to work as part of a project team and coordinate/schedule work with the project manager and other team members.
  • Responsible for various tasks on several concurrent projects and independently complete tasks within the allocated effort and scheduled time period.


  • Responsible for assistance with design of the project from the design stage through completion with multiple project team members and engineering disciplines.
  • Collaborates with the Project Managers to identify and troubleshoot problems.
  • Coordinates with other engineering departments when necessary.
  • Participate in site visits and client meetings as needed.


WHAT YOU NEED:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer registration or the ability to acquire registration quickly through reciprocity.


  • 1-4 years' professional experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Design and plan production experience utilizing AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and Revit is required.
  • The ability to balance multiple work assignments on multiple projects at the same time is required.
  • The ability to work alone but also effectively as part of a team is required.
  • Requires process-oriented thinking with strong organizational and technical skills.
  • Requires excellent communication, and the ability to take and understand directives from Project Engineers and Project Managers.
  • The ability to complete work consistently, with moderate flexibility to accommodate varying demands from Project Managers is required.
