The Medical Records Clerk will aid online record organization and destruction in order to maintain our record retention policy. The ideal candidate will be required to travel to various assigned practice sites throughout Connecticut to meet business needs. This is a temporary position with the potential to be extended.

This position is full time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 3 Farm Glen Blvd, Farmington, CT 06032, USA.

We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours during training will be 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday - Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Ensure records and files are stored and managed in accordance with record management procedures and regulations
  • Ensure confidentiality regulations and rules are complied with when filing and storing documents
  • Create electronic/ paper files needed to store documents
  • Review records to identify files that can be shredded or submitted to record storage
  • Submit files to record management using appropriate procedures.
  • Process any mailed ROI's and scan them into the system.
  • Other duties assigned.

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • Clerical or administrative experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel up to 10% throughout Connecticut
  • Ability to work full time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with Medical Records, scanning and indexing
  • EPIC experience



The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $24.42 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
