Role Description Trimble's AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction & Owner) division is seeking a Senior Director to lead the strategy and delivery of our data ecosystem. This critical leadership role is responsible for driving the execution of the data strategy to enhance customer experience, improve operational efficiency, and enable new business opportunities across the AECO segment. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in building and managing complex software ecosystems with disparate data sources, APIs, and business processes. This role reports to the Vice President, Platform in AECO. Responsibilities
Data Ecosystem Strategy & Vision: Develop and drive the overall data ecosystem strategy for AECO, encompassing the Trimble Developers unified API program, App Xchange, telemetry and usage data, and data governance and management. Data Governance & Management: Direct the implementation of data governance and management practices across AECO, ensuring data availability, cataloging, quality, standards, policy, and compliance are consistently and uniformly implemented and followed in support of strategic objectives. Agentic Platform Enablement: Ensure data is readily available and aligned with the direction and needs of Trimble's agentic AI platform. Data Accessibility and API Maturation: Oversee the strategy and execution of the Trimble Developers unified API program, driving adoption, standardization, and developer engagement. App Xchange Strategy & Growth: Define the strategy and drive the alignment of App Xchange within the broader data and API context, fostering a thriving ecosystem of connectors and integrations . Telemetry & Usage: Establish and implement strategies for collecting, analyzing, and leveraging telemetry and usage data to improve product development, customer engagement, GTM, and business decision-making. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of product managers, data governance professionals, data analysts, and product operations specialists. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with AECO business units, product teams, engineering, sales, marketing, and other stakeholders to align data ecosystem initiatives with business objectives. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate the data ecosystem strategy and progress to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in product management, data management, or a related role within a SaaS company. Strong business acumen with a proven ability to tie technical work to business priorities and outcomes. Proven track record of successfully building and managing complex software ecosystems with disparate data sources, APIs, and data management challenges. Extensive experience with implementation of data governance and data management principles, practices, and technologies. Strong understanding of API design, development, and management. Experience with marketplace platforms and developer ecosystems. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across a complex organization. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset. Experience managing and developing high-performing teams. Experience with cloud-based data solutions in Trimble's technology tech stack (e.g., AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, Gainsight).
