UCF IT is the central information technology organization at the University of Central Florida, providing technology services and support to faculty, staff, and students. Reporting to the Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, UCF IT comprises several key departments, including Infrastructure & Operations, Telecommunications, Enterprise Application Development, Information Security, Instructional Resources, and Client Services. UCF IT collaborates with university stakeholders through governance frameworks and advisory committees to ensure alignment with UCF's strategic goals. With a focus on innovation, security, and excellent service delivery, UCF IT supports the university's mission of teaching, learning, research, and community engagement.

The Opportunity:

UCF IT seeks an Associate Director, Student Systems for their Peoplesoft Campus Solutions student information systems and ERP team. The Associate Director, ERP Student Application Systems is responsible for the direct management and supervision of enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications systems analysts, ERP system administrators, and engineers. Develops Student Information and ERP system strategy and road maps based on information technology (IT) and business leader priorities. Leads development, implementation, upgrades, testing, conversion and on-going support of the ERP systems. Plans, develops, maintains and supports information technology (IT) systems and operations. Leads application development, performance monitoring, application acceleration, and service delivery to optimally deploy, run and improve applications. Collaborates with executive business owners and business process owners to ensure the ERP system team priorities align with organizational goals.

Responsibilities:


  • Act as product and development manager for the student information systems including, but not limited to, Peoplesoft Campus Solutions and its ancillary systems. Manage the entire product lifecycle, from ideation through development, testing, release, and support, ensuring the product meets customer needs and aligns with business goals.

  • Lead team of Student ERP applications systems analysts, ERP system administrators, developers and engineers. Maintain resource plans, assign priority work, provide guidance, and measure progress. Plan, execute, and participate in team, department, division and university activities designed to improve culture and employee engagement.

  • Collaborate with executive business owners and business process owners to establish a clear vision, strategy, and roadmap for the student ERP systems, aligning the teams' priorities with organizational goals. Coordinate governance, development backlog, release management, and continuous improvement for the student ERP systems based on business leader priorities. Conduct regular feedback product sessions with staff, students, and faculty.

  • Lead development, implementation, upgrades, testing, conversion, on-going operations and support of the ERP system. Plan and oversee the management of ERP system improvement projects. Ensure ERP data and ERP systems security and architecture meet UCF and industry standards.

  • Monitor performance and service delivery to optimally run and improve applications according to business priorities. Establish and report operational metrics, human resource utilization and capacity, team performance, and system utilization and performance monthly.

  • Manage team performance, provide regular feedback, maintain progress documentation, and conduct employee performance evaluations. Coach employees for improved performance and effectiveness. Plan, establish and execute professional development plans for self and all staff.

  • Develop and lead ongoing student apprenticeship, senior projects, and internship programs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of relevant experience with at least 2+ years of leadership experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience with at least 2+ years of leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Preferred Qualifications:

We welcome candidates with any of the following experience:


  • 10+ years' progressive experience with Oracle Peoplesoft Campus Solutions delivered functionality.

  • In depth knowledge of Oracle Peoplesoft architecture, data, and product ecosystem.

  • Experience working in higher education, with in depth understanding of higher education student systems requirements.

  • Experience leading development and analysis teams to improve student systems.

  • Extensive product management experience and skills including but not limited to outstanding facilitation and collaboration skills, experience leading product governance and managing backlogs, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strategic thinking and vision, ability to prioritize and make tough decisions, technical understanding and ability to work with technical teams, user-centric mindset, leadership and influence skills, data analysis and interpretation skills, ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, experience with Agile methodologies.

  • Extensive experience leading complex projects.

  • Experience leading product strategy and development.

  • Knowledge of user experience (UX) design.

  • Advanced scripting skills (SQL).

  • Experience coaching student interns.

  • Deep understanding of and experience with release management.

  • Experience using performance analytics to develop and execute process improvement initiatives.

  • In-depth understanding of UCF information technology services and higher education stakeholder needs.

  • Ability to ensure the highest levels of trust in data transparency, compliance, and security.

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate decision making among executive stakeholders.


Special Instructions to the Applicants:

This position will be required to work occasional nights and weekends during upgrades or outages.

This is not a remote position. Up to 1-3 hybrid workdays per week may be available after a probationary period, depending on university policy, project work, and supervisor approval.
