Facilities Planner III

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance to be considered.

We are seeking a Facilities Planner III with a Civil Engineering background to support the Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) in delivering mission-critical Military Construction (MILCON) and Facilities Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (FSRM) projects. This role combines engineering expertise with project planning and construction oversight, and requires a candidate experienced in site development, stormwater systems, and multi-agency collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Facilities Planner III: $90,000 - $95,000; Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Facilities Planner III Responsibilities Include:



  • Serve as engineering liaison for facility planning and civil infrastructure design including grading, drainage, water/sewer, and stormwater systems.
  • Monitor and report progress on MILCON, FSRM, and Marine Construction, Naval Reserve (MCNR) projects; maintain documentation to ensure milestone achievement.
  • Produce project requirements, designs, and specifications to estimate costs and report on construction impacts to budget and schedule.
  • Participate in design meetings, reviews, site surveys, and validate project requirements, phasing plans, and compliance with planning documents.
  • Coordinate construction phasing plans impacting unit operations for MILCON and FSRM projects.
  • Collaborate with MARFORRES planners, project managers, contractors, and federal agencies (e.g., USACE, NAVFAC) to integrate project requirements and DoD strategies.
  • Attend contractor meetings, manage RFIs, conduct site visits, and review quality control reports to ensure project adherence.
  • Maintain accurate records, submit progress updates, and coordinate milestones with stakeholders.
  • On-site work and some travel required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Facilities Planner III Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related field.
  • 3-5 years of construction management experience on large-scale industrial and commercial projects is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with U.S. Government construction agencies, such as NAVFAC or USACE, is highly desirable.
  • 8-10 years of experience in a related U.S. military position or field is preferred; U.S. Marine Corps experience is especially valued.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with web-based project management tools and working knowledge of design software, i.e. Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Revit and AutoCAD (2D and 3D drafting).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of producing technical documentation and engaging with high-level stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Proven ability to perform support tasks related to facilities operations.
  • Must meet all pre-employment qualification requirements as outlined by Cherokee Federal.
