Senior Procurement Specialist LOCATION: Remote U.S. JOB STATUS: Full-time CLEARANCE: Secret (Active or Eligible) CERTIFICATION: N/A TRAVEL: Less than 10% Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a fully remote Senior Procurement Specialist located in the U.S., supporting our Procurement Team. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor's Degree with minimum of 8 years Or a Master's degree with minimum of 6 years of professional experience in in:
- supply chain management, subcontracts or contracts administration, or a closely related field.
- Experience with Government purchasing and contracting.
- Experience in Administering high dollar value Purchase Orders and Subcontracts.
- Experience with Critical Path Management, FAR and DFARS.
- Experience analyzing data to formulate and execute effective negotiation strategies.
- 4 years of experience with negotiating terms and conditions in a corporate setting.
- Experience in leadership, critical thinking, and innovative behaviors in supply chain projects or roles.
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior procurement professionals.
- Ability to obtain a US Government issued Secret clearance
- US Citizenship is required.
- Experience with Costpoint or similar ERP system
- Experience in MS Office suite.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source and procure various commodities and services in support of contracts.
- Proficiency in the procurement procedures and processes, including but not limited to price analysis, commercial determination, negotiations, and navigating Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) requirements based on procurement thresholds.
- Ability to proficiently establish CPSR compliant procurement packages exceeding $2M.
- Initiates Requests for Quotations and Proposals, receives supplier responses, and analyzes for to meet solicitation requirements.
- Works with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required
- Identifies opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations.
- Manages performance of purchase orders, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations.
- Lead and mentor junior procurement team on establishing compliant procurement files.
- Interfacing and collaborating with Programs and other organizations within and outside of Procurement organization.
- Ability to plan, schedule, and arrange activities to accomplish objectives.
- Person should possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills and be extremely organized.
- Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities.
