Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Counter-UAS Test Engineer located at the 46TS/TGBB, Eglin AFB, FL.

This position provides support to the 46 Test Squadron - Sensors and Defensive Systems Flight at Eglin AFB.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Master's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
  • Must have a current SECRET security clearance and be able to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
  • Requires at least 10 years' experience in the field of engineering, research and development, and/or flight test conduct in operational and/or developmental testing of weapon and avionics systems including electronic combat and UAV devices.
  • Must have knowledge of and experience with unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems.
  • Must have knowledge of and experience with test and evaluation of EW and/or UAV systems.
  • Must be able to travel to required meetings (e.g., Program Management Reviews (PMR), Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM), Engineering Design Reviews, Test Planning and other enterprise/program meetings) to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and to lead and direct the work of others.
  • Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays when required to meet mission requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • An active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.
  • A background in planning, conducting, and reporting on flight testing to include electronic warfare systems and UAV is strongly desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs test engineering-related duties to execute testing of defensive weapons systems in the electronic warfare (EW) arena.
  • Provides individual technical effort in questions/issues of critical importance to the customer.
  • Assist in the development of system requirements, functional capabilities, performance measures, design constraints, test phase entry/exit criteria, and metrics.
  • Support development test (DT), operational test (OT), force development evaluation (FDE), and certification for test readiness by identifying deficiencies, verifying compliance with specifications and standards, and demonstrating a stable system configuration.
  • Support the development of strategic test documents such as Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), test strategies, Integrated Test Team (ITT) Charters, Test Scenario Plans, and Modeling and Simulation Development Plans.
  • Prepare, execute, review, and analyze test plans, procedures, metrics, and reports throughout the software development life cycle. Develop and write methods of tests, test cases, test cards/procedures, test directives, technical or letter reports, test objectives, analysis and review of requirements, and any other test process documents as required in the conduct of testing.
  • Plans, coordinates, and monitors test projects that frequently require significant modification of standard practices or adaptation of instrumentation to obtain valid results. Plans, monitors and evaluates tests, and assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests. Makes recommendations and commitments on the conventional aspects of the testing assignments.
  • Coordinate schedules, pre-and post-test activities, and test results.
  • Travel to TDY locations to execute test procedures, data management, data reduction, data analysis, configuration management, hardware setup, hardware troubleshooting; and deficiency reporting, deficiency evaluation and recommendations, and official test reports.
  • Conduct EW system testing and UAV testing, validation and verification testing, and modeling and simulation testing at locations to include but not limited to: Eglin AFB, FL; Ridgecrest, CA; Nevada Test and Training Range; Wright-Patterson AFB, OH; Patuxent River, MD; and other TDY locations.
