Description

    Providing direct support to the Afloat Submarine C4I IPT Chief Engineer in drawing and engineering documentation review
  • Reviewing preliminary and existing documentation and changes will be submitted via PARMALT Liaison Action Record (PLAR) or Planning Yard Liaison Action Records (LAR)
  • Researching alternate parts for applicability
  • Providing assistance in developing Alteration and Improvement (A&I) to submarine platforms
  • Participating in System Integration Team (SIT) meetings and Systems Engineering Team (SET) meetings
  • Participating in all CSRR production meetings with corporate production contractors and other NIWC LANT staff to resolve drawings and part issues
  • Providing cursory QA reviews of production work as directed
  • Researching and preparing drafts and/or finished technical drawings to program management and customers
  • Assisting in receipt, distribution, and local management of design agent produced technical data in support of the local production of CSRR systems
  • Maintaining the most current CSRR SCN drawing package to include all drawing redlines
  • Reviewing and analyzing released engineering change data and redline drawings and submit recommended changes to engineering, quality, materials, and support
  • Providing configuration and control support in tracking, submission and review of Action Records recorded in the NIWC Atlantic Configuration Management Database for internal equipment modifications relevant to CSRR SCN
  • Collecting data and status reports from Corporate Production required for weekly Production Sub-IPT meetings

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements: BS/BA in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering, or appropriate work experience of two (2) - five (5) years in Electrical and/or Mechanical engineering
  • Two (2) to Five (5) years of experience solving technical problems
  • Trained in the skills and techniques related to engineering and/or software design/maintenance
  • Possess a practical understanding of engineering/software concepts
  • Ensures that the product/service and process meet quality and safety standards
  • Experience includes testing equipment/system to make sure that the process operates effectively and safely
  • Individual shall be able to interpret plans and drawings and contribute to the design and fabrication of test specimens
  • Should have experience in computer aided drafting (CAD), ability to prepare shop drawings for model construction, and be familiar with material specifications and fabrication methods


Desired Skills

  • Familiarity working with a wide range of government civilians, military personnel, other contractors, and vendors and the ability to communicate effectively via telephone, email and in person, and analytical skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, able to read and correctly interpret engineering Level 3 electrical drawings and documents, short-term planning, and computer skills, and knowledge of engineering methods, operation techniques, and other principles in determining potential solutions
  • Assign, manage, review, and approve submarines team work products
  • Experience working with Systems and Equipment onboard USN Submarines

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL WITH TOP SECRET ELIGIBILITY
