We are currently seeking General Planners for our client who supports FEMA disaster relief efforts across the United States. FEMA's mission is to support citizens and first responders to ensure that as a Nation, we work together to build, sustain, and improve our capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards.

Pay: $60/hr.

REMOTE

Project: Puerto Rico


Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Conducting preliminary damage assessments (PDAs) in the field with Federal, State and local officials.
  • Writing Project Worksheets (PWs) for the purposes of determining project eligibility, scopes of work and estimating costs to repair or replace a facility or structure in order to restore it to its pre-disaster design.
  • Providing technical, cost estimating, disaster recovery and/or management services with an emphasis on restoring disaster sites to pre-disaster conditions.


Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of related experience is required.
  • Prior FEMA Public Assistance disaster response and recovery experience in one of the following areas: Public Assistance Coordinator (PAC) Crew Leader, Project Specialist, Debris Specialist, Debris Monitor, FEMA-certified Trainer, Hazard Mitigation Specialist (Sections 404 and 406), or Long Term Community Recovery Program Specialist is strongly desired.
  • Interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
  • Written communication and computer skills
