Who You Are:
Versar Global Solutions is seeking a full-time Quality Technician to join our team in Ocoee, FL. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of quality assurance processes and performing inspections related to the highway maintenance project under the Asset Maintenance contracts. The ideal candidate will have experience in roadway maintenance and ensuring all work complies with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and project specifications.
What You'll Do:
- Perform routine inspections on an assigned percentage of completed work orders to ensure compliance with the Asset Maintenance (AM) contract quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records to comply with Quality Assurance Review stipulations and assist the Project Manager with documentation and reporting requirements.
- Prepare reports and updates for QC/QA Manager review, ensuring the project database is current and generates accurate client reports.
- Track work order status and timesheets for quality control (QC) and monitor contractor performance.
- Inspect in-house and subcontractor work to ensure it meets required quality standards.
- Coordinate and attend post-approval meetings and inspections, obtaining project certifications and final (as-built) plans in accordance with department procedures.
- Check quality of work done and data entered into 10% of work orders closed every week (anywhere between 50 and 140 per week depending on WO's closed).
- Inspect Guardrail and Single/Multi-Post Signs per group (entire project is in four groups) and submit forms for deficiencies (takes approx. 2-3 weeks; There is an inspection due every 6 months.).
- Check quality of work for above inspections (issues are QC'd as work is completed within a month).
- Inspect Attenuators for entire project and submit forms for deficiencies (takes approx. 2 weeks; There is an inspection due every 6 months).
- Check quality of work for above inspections (issues are QC'd as work is completed within a month).
- Inspect Sign Reflectivity for entire project and submit forms for deficiencies (takes approx.3-4 days; yearly).
- Check quality of work done and data input for DOT work orders on Structures (as work is completed).
- Check quality of work done by sweeping subcontractors (as work is completed).
- Check MMS codes for deliverables (monthly).
- Internal MRP inspections (15 points per month; timeframe varies depending on point locations)Input data for MRP and AMPER scores into Quality Metrics (as it becomes available).
- Inputting data for lighting and end treatments into ArcGis (as needed).
- Inspect Sound Walls (as needed) and help with management plan (yearly).
- Inspecting roadways after storms and inputting damage into Survey123 (as needed).
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all inspections and work activities comply with safety regulations and establish work areas in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, design standards, and manuals to ensure compliance.
- Analyze, interpret, and plot survey data when necessary.
- Communicate technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing, to project teams and clients.
General Responsibilities:
- Travel throughout the project area to perform inspections and duties related to data quality assurance.
- Demonstrate good safety practices and environmental awareness, working in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support project goals and ensure compliance with contract stipulations.
What You'll Bring:
- 18+ years of age.
- Must possess and maintain an active and valid Florida driver's license without restrictions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two (2) years of experience in roadway maintenance, construction inspection, or data quality assurance.
- Proficiency in performing mathematical calculations and inspecting maintenance contract projects.
- Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb, kneel, and work outdoors.
- Successful results from pre-employment screenings, including a federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
- Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
- Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal permitting processes.
- Within 60 days of start, obtain and maintain an Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Certification (provided by the company).
Compensation
Expected Salary: $16-18/hr
