Partner with the best

As an Metal Lab Technician you will be responsible for performing laboratory sample analysis on Gas Turbine components by using metallurgical laboratory in the organization. Occasional support as an ME as needed for Aero and on hand support for the coating cell with respective Coating techs and cell leaders. This will include set up and process assistance.

As an Metal Lab Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of test specimen including cutting, mounting, and polishing up to 1um
  • Evaluation of prepared test specimen microstructure with microscope, specimen bend test, hardness check and report preparation.
  • Assist on analysis of test specimen regards to new products / Process / new technologies qualification.
  • Assist on creating work Instruction for metallurgical lab activities against the process.
  • Identification, storing & retaining the test specimens & reports as per the procedure.
  • Performs all work in accordance with plant safety rules and maintains highest quality standards in the execution of all assigned work.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on all machines and other routine labor work as required in accordance with production flow.
  • Maintains a clean work area and contributes toward overall housekeeping efforts and other duties as needed.
  • Updates digital shop systems related to assigned work (Digital Work Order, Time Vouchering, Operation completion)
  • He/ she shall be utilized on Vacuum furnace and Thermal Spray operations as requires.
  • He/ she shall be utilized on Assembling, Shot peening, Bucket Moment weight etc... as requires.
  • Supports Lean process, including following flow line and identifying areas of improvement within work area.
  • Ensures the work area is compliance with HSE requirement.
  • Full compliance with BH Policies / Procedures

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Must have HS Diploma or GED. Strong shop mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions required.
  • On the job experience in metallurgical laboratory, including preparation, analysis, and interpretation of gas turbine component samples.
  • Experience using laboratory equipment & chemicals including microscope, mounting press, disc polishing machine, and hardness tester.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of industrial safety.
