Sales Tax Analyst

The Sales Tax Analyst position is responsible for ensuring compliance with sales tax regulations, focusing primarily on managing the accurate collection, validation, and maintenance of exemption certificates for the United States and Puerto Rico. The role is critical in ensuring adherence to sales tax regulations, minimizing tax exposure, and improving operational efficiency.

This position reports directly to the Indirect Tax Manager in Cranberry Township, PA. and plays a pivotal role in managing and ensuring compliance with exemption certificate standards across the organization. This is a hybrid position.

• Collect, review, and validate customer exemption certificates for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure all sales tax exemption certificates comply with state audit requirements before integrating them into customer accounts.
• Utilizing and managing tax systems to maintain organized and up-to-date exemption certificate records.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive repository of state-specific tax forms and regulatory requirements, ensuring full compliance with audit and legal standards.
• Establish, manage, and monitor processes for expired certificates, credit adjustments, and rebilling activities.
• Oversee and manage large-scale store sales tax refunds that are not resolved at the store level.
• Support audits by providing accurate documentation and responding to inquiries related to exemptions.
• Collaborate with the IT department to enhance automation and efficiency involving tax engines and certificate management systems.
• Work closely with Finance, Sales, and Customer Support to educate stakeholders on exemption requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with a 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and expertise in conducting online research.
• Familiarity with SAP, Avalara, or similar tools.
