Overview

AmTrust Financial Services, a fast-growing commercial insurance company, has an immediate need for a Technical Claims Specialist to support training efforts in our Worker's Compensation Claims Department.



Responsibilities

    Technical Skill Development: Create and deliver technical training on the claim lifecycle, including coverage analysis, investigation, litigation management, jurisdictional compliance, reserving practices, return-to-work efforts, cost containment strategies, etc.
  • New Hire Onboarding and Development: Experienced and non-experienced new hires. Partner with direct manager to ensure system access, equipment, and day one experience are smooth and consistent, and that every new employee feels prepared, welcomed, and connected. Coaching, mentorship, skills assessment, and individualized development plans to foster career growth.
  • Claim Associate Program: Development of Claims Associates during their initial two-week training, including skill-building, case study analysis, geared to transition them from trainees to fully productive adjusters.
  • Branch Support: Tailor training programs to meet the evolving needs of individual zones and branch offices, ensuring uniform knowledge and addressing jurisdictional nuances.
  • Communication: Provide leaders with consistent updates on onboarding and training programs.
  • Project Management: Manage or participate as a SME in complex projects and initiatives for the WC line of business.


Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of Workers Compensation claim handing experience.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to mentor, train, and be a leader within the organization.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership.
  • Knowledge source for adjusters.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and project teams.
  • Strong listening and communication skills.
  • The ability to travel 30% or more of the time.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed organizational structure.
  • CPCU, AIC designation, adjuster licensing program or other industry training programs a plus.
