Description
Activities and Responsibilities Assists in creation of new product design and generates proposal drawings/models for customers, as well as production/process drawings for plant production.
- Promotes customer enthusiasm for NSK products by providing timely, courteous, and complete technical solutions.
- Serves as a source of engineering and technical authority on the selection, application, use and performance of NSK products.
- Works directly with sales and customer personnel to ascertain and meet technical information and service requirements.
- Analyses customer applications and investigates performance issues to recommend solutions that maximize value for the customer.
- Consults with other application engineers, team leaders and managers in the development and review of proposed technical solutions.
- Visits customers together with sales to gather information and present solutions.
- Communicates customer requirements to NSK design and plant personnel as part of new product quotation and production startup processes.
- Provides training on the features, benefits, application, and use of NSK products to team members and customers.
- Provides technical perspective to business leaders and sales in the development of strategies for growing business as assigned customers.
- Visits OEM and distribution customers together with sales to gather information and present solutions.
- Analyzes customer applications and investigates performance issues to recommend solutions that maximize value for the customer.
- Works closely with customer engineers and buyers, application engineering manager, Japanese team members, other application engineers, and plant manufacturing and quality engineers/shop floor personnel in the development and review of proposed technical solutions.
- Works closely with sales and quality personnel to resolve customer quality concerns and develop corrective actions.
- Provides training on the features, benefits, application, and use of NSK products to team members and customers.
- Supports sales and marketing efforts at tradeshows, customer's supplier shows, and helps create/edit catalogs and presentation materials.
- Responsible for CAD design/drawing work for linear bearing components and actuators such as ball screws, ball screw components, linear guides, and custom linear actuators using various CAD systems such as Autocad, NXIdeas, Catia, Solidworks, etc.
Experience with linear, mechatronic products, or bearings background preferred. CAD experience, programming, foreign language, and communication skills all considered a plus.

2 - 4 years: 2 to 4 years of position-related experience; preferably 4 to 6 years of position-related experience. (required)
