Our team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for an Operations Planning Manager to join them.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Operations Planning Manager is responsible for master schedules, inventory, and materials planning processes across all Machine Shop part families.

You will have a balance between a tactical and strategic approach to issues and solutions within the disciplines of planning, scheduling, and overall materials processes within the site.

This role will support the overall planning strategy for Moog's new AIM building.

You will be expected to work onsite in East Aurora, NY.

To be considered for the Operations Planning Manager role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Business discipline, with 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • 4+ years of leadership experience, including demonstrated capability of:

    • Leading, developing and coaching high-performing teams of employees.

    • Leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver tactical plans that achieve operation objectives.

    • Effectively leading through organizational changes.

  • A continuous improvement mindset, with a proven track record of enacting lean manufacturing strategies and implementing process improvements.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.

  • CPIM or APICS certification preferred.

As an Operations Planning Manager, you will:

  • Lead the site Machine Shop in developing & deploying a successful material planning strategy based on current load, future growth, and new product introduction, with a result of proper inventory management.

  • Develop and implement tools, processes, training aids, and standard work to drive continuous improvement within the Planning/Materials function for the Machine Shop.

  • Lead a team of direct reporting Planners demonstrating Moog Culture and Values, and work cross functionally with many areas (e.g. manufacturing supervisors, engineers, HR, cost accountants, lean, quality, supply chain, etc.).

  • Develop tactical plans to achieve the Machine Shop and Site's strategic objectives, including being directly responsible for planning processes and settings for all shop part families.

  • Facilitate resolution of all issues that may impact objectives with a major focus on delivery.

  • Work closely and effectively communicate with your counterparts and Planners in Hydraulic Assembly and Test and Supply Chain to ensure seamless part supply and quick problem resolution.

  • Coordinate with Demand Management for capacity analysis and review, to highlight machining bottlenecks or constraints and provide staffing and equipment recommendations for Operations.

  • Ensure that relevant, accurate, and timely communication and reports are acquired from and delivered to stakeholders.

  • Successfully lead and support shop floor change projects, and support product transition projects to and from East Aurora Military Aircraft Group Operations.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $95,000.00-$130,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
