$74,100 - $195,000 Application Window Open date: May 28, 2025 Next review date: Saturday, Jun 28, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Saturday, Jun 28, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Applications are sought for a full-time Assistant Project Scientist position, with a focus on single cell genomics research. The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary research team in the laboratory of Dr. Yi Yin in the UCLA Department of Human Genetics. The focus of the Yin Lab is the development and application of single-cell DNA sequencing technologies to study homologous recombination. The Yin Lab combines single cell technology development and computational method development associated with new single-cell DNA sequencing tools to study DNA repair and genome instability in yeast, fly, mouse models and mammalian cell culture. Experience in computational genomics and a strong interest in chromosome biology is required. The ideal candidate will have an interest in pursuing projects in technology development, will be motivated to develop and implement a variety of cutting-edge single-cell computational and sequencing techniques to analyze collected data, and will be excited to work with and develop teams within the lab. Projects may include but are not limited to genetic mapping of homologous recombination events as well as structural variations in with mitotic cells. Knowledge in DNA repair mechanisms at the molecular level (genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry/structural biology) is highly preferred.
