DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will take on the responsibility of executing skilled maintenance and repair operations across a diverse array of vehicles, equipment, and tools, with a primary focus on diesel machinery. While certain tasks such as diagnostics and parts rebuilding are excluded, your responsibilities will include performing essential services like oil changes, mechanical diagnostics, tune-ups, and tire replacements for both vehicles and equipment. You will also be tasked with repairing various systems, including electrical, brake, and steering components. A critical aspect of your duties will involve conducting official state safety and emissions inspections on designated vehicles, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and affixing the necessary inspection stickers. For diesel equipment specifically, you will perform oil changes, service filters, and replace worn parts as needed. Additionally, you will address repairs related to electrical systems, cooling systems, and suspension components. Your expertise will also be shared with colleagues as you demonstrate repair techniques and assist with more complex repairs. Finally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate equipment records and providing emergency road service when required, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
- Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C driver's license.
- You must be in possession of a valid Class 1 PA Inspection Mechanic Certificate.
Additional Requirements:
- You must supply own tool box and basic tools.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
