Senior Application System Analyst/Programmer - Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The Application Development division develops, implements, and supports information technology solutions that are either internally developed or purchased from a third-party vendor. These applications and systems provide solutions to corporate data processing and information needs. The incumbent manages the efforts of direct reports, providing analysis and project management direction, and reviews the applications and systems developed to ensure they meet requirements of the organization. The incumbent works closely with managers and associates throughout the corporation in order to facilitate understanding of their information system needs.

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Developer will support the Enterprise Architecture Team, where they will play a key role in advancing AI-driven solutions across the organization. The incumbent will collaborate closely with internal developers, architects, and product teams to design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications and services that address real-world challenges faced by our business partners. The incumbent will also stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI research and technologies, while ensuring all solutions adhere to data privacy and security standards. Additional primary responsibilities include:

• Develop AI Solutions: Create and implement AI models and algorithms to solve complex problems.
• Enhance Models: Improve pre-trained models for better performance and adapt them to specific tasks.
• Integrate External Data: Use external data sources to boost model performance with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Build Multi-Agent Systems: Design systems that enable complex AI interactions and automation.
• Maintain Applications: Develop and keep full-stack applications efficient and scalable.
• Deploy AI Models: Integrate AI models into existing systems for smooth operation.
• Document Work: Create and maintain documentation for AI models and applications.

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years of IT experience; or 5 years of programming experience
• Superior knowledge of and experience using programming languages, platforms, and data structures
• Superior analytical thinking skills with experience in identifying, scrutinizing, improving, and streamlining complex work processes
• Experience in identifying, analyzing, and solving business problems to improve work processes
• Superior knowledge of and experience applying application software development methodologies

• Proficiency in Python, AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), and operating systems (e.g., z/OS, Linux) preferred
• Knowledge of full-stack development (front-end and back-end technologies) preferred
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), microservices architecture, big data tools (e.g., Spark, Dataiku), and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred
• Experience with generative AI platforms (e.g., AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques preferred
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies (e.g., Docker), and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) preferred
• Knowledge of multi-agent systems and their application in AI workflows preferred
