Survey Manager

STV is seeking a Survey Manager for our Survey Group in either our Acworth, Duluth or Atlanta, GA locations.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 4 years of experience with Altas, Boundaries, Construction Staking and Topographic Surveys.
  • Must be able to operate survey equipment proficiently including but not limited to: Trimble Robotic Total stations, Trimble GPS equipment, levels along with basic computer operating skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced working environment, be able to read and understand plats and construction plans and interact professionally with clients or their representatives and landowners.
  • Must possess a proven work history, strong work ethic, team-player attitude and be able to multi-task while directing multiple field personnel to meet client driven deadlines.
  • Must possess the ability to problem solve and think outside the box.
  • Ability to walk long distances over a wide variety of terrains while carrying up to 50 lbs. in all weather conditions.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED required.
  • Georgia DOT experience is a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record that meets our insurance requirements, be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check.
  • Boundary survey experience (GDOT database prep experience preferred)
  • Extensive Civil 3D CAD and/or AutoCAD drafting required
  • Microstation OpenRoads/InRoads experience a plus
  • Trimble Business Center experience a plus
  • Must be able to read and interpret topographic mapping and possess ability to draw detailed sketches of structures

Daily responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing duties as assigned by the RPLS to complete projects in an accurate, safe, ethi
  • cal, professional and within a timely manner.
  • LSIT or higher is preferred
  • Lead all drafting efforts and point
  • processing (both conventional and GPS)
  • Coordinate field work completion, preparation, calculation sheets, drafting efforts
  • Assist with condensing drafting process to improve quality and overall plat development efforts
  • Serves as lead on a survey crew and instructs crew members on survey techniques.
  • Upload/Download files of survey data to their proper locations onto the field data collector or office computer.
  • Uses of Trimble surveying equipment including but not limited to GPS, total stations and data collectors to assist with the determination of elevations and property boundaries.
  • Responsible for collecting quality data in the field, keeping good clean documentation of work performed and sketches in a field book and perform accurate simple calculations as needed to complete surveys.
  • Responsible for equipment and vehicle maintenance, ensures vehicle has proper equipment and supplies each morning and returns remaining equipment and supplies at end of shift.
  • Communicate daily with Project Surveyor and/or technician regarding land survey project schedule and work progress.
  • Prepare daily reports, time sheets, and other required paperwork.

Compensation Range:

$106,908.24 - $142,544.33
