Position Overview


Primary Purpose of the Position
The Department of Business Administration is seeking Adjunct Faculty for a temporary position. The Adjunct Faculty must be able to successfully teach one or more introductory or advanced marketing courses.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
This position is in support of the WSSU Strategic Plan with regard to Goal 1: Strengthen Liberal Education - specifically, Goal 1.4 - "The University will cultivate a stimulating intellectual community that fosters and supports scholarship, including sponsored research and creative work." The adjunct faculty will work closely with the department chair, faculty, staff to facilitate the positive educational experience of students while receiving instruction by faculty in lecture. Faculty are encouraged to pursue new and creative teaching methods.

Minimum Experience/Education
A graduate degree and at least 18 semester credit hours of business coursework from an accredited institution
Normal Work Schedule
Weekly with designated class times Monday through Friday. Generally, 8:00 a.m. to possibly 8:30 p.m.
Department Required Skills

  • Successful candidates must be proficient in maintaining grades and record-keeping using an on-line learning management platform.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

  • Recent college-level marketing teaching experience.
  • Practical marketing experience in a business setting.
  • Substantial graduate-level marketing coursework.
  • Demonstrated classroom management skills and effective interactions with students, faculty, staff, and administration.
