Who You Are:
Versar Global Solutions is seeking a key leader in the Chief Growth Officer (CGO) organization, to oversee and optimize processes, tools, and strategies that support the business development (BD) capture and sales functions. The Senior Director for Growth and Strategic Planning will work closely with CGO functional teams, including Sales and Capture, Proposal Development, and Marketing and Communications, to ensure that teams are aligned and operating effectively by managing resources, implementing technologies, analyzing data, and aligning operational strategies with business vision and goals. Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer (CGO), this role will play an integral role in improving sales productivity, forecasting accuracy, and organizational scalability.
This position will have specific responsibility and oversight of project management of strategic planning process; development and tracking of sales goals; market and competitive intelligence gathering and synthesis; data analytics to identify trends, key performance indicators, and actionable insights for decision-making; project management and coordination of BDR and management presentations; and report outs of market, industry, and competitive analysis to the sales organization and other departments in the company, including senior leadership. The Senior Director and their team will work closely with other teams in the CGO organization, and operational and functional units in the company, to optimize resourcing for business development activities.
What You'll Do:
- Strategic planning
- Project management and facilitation of strategic planning processes and updates.
- Project management and facilitation of sales goals and target setting.
- Develop Operating Unit/Market sector cornerstone strategies with Market Sector Leaders.
- Support tracking of strategies against account plans.
- Lead quarterly tracking and reporting of sales goals and targets.
- Market analysis and competitive intelligence
- Performs market, industry, and competitive analysis to support sales organization, including delivering regular industry, competitor, and market trends and data analytics to the Sales and Capture team and the Proposal Development team.
- Provides account and opportunity market intelligence and data to support the sales lifecycle, including capture planning, client/partner engagements, marketing and communication campaigns, gate reviews, and PWin solutions.
- Process optimization and facilitation
- Streamline sales processes and workflows to enhance productivity and reduce inefficiencies.
- Supports coordination, facilitation, and reviews of key sales lifecycle milestones, including gate reviews.
- Technology management
- Oversee the application and evolution of the company's CRM systems and capabilities and supports the broader business development, capture and proposal teams with BD-related data management and analytics.
- Manages and maintains the enterprise CRM with quality up-to-date data (integrity) that informs managers and leadership of sales lifecycle progress through milestones and workflows. ensuring data remains complete, current, and accurate.
- Leads development and generation of CRM analytics and reporting to inform management and sales organization of progress against sales targets and overall growth goals.
- Works with end users of the system to provide system training, collect user issues, and ensure timely data entry to fuel up-to-date dashboard reporting for management and leadership.
- Data analysis and performance reporting
- Supply informative data analytics to keep management and sales organization apprised of sales performance trends, track KPIs, and create actionable insights for decision-making.
- Monitor and evaluate sales team performance, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
- Sales resourcing and enablement
- Collaborate with teams to support resourcing sales initiatives.
- Work with sales organization teams to provide training, resources, and tools to improve sales performance.
- Foster team
- Support the CGO in maintaining a positive and ethical work climate that is conducive to attracting, retaining, and motivating a diverse group of top-quality employees at all levels.
- Manage performance and develop team members that will inspire and motivate individuals to achieve personal goals and objectives and those of Versar.
- Support new business development and corporate initiatives.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelors in Business Administration, Statistics/Data Analysis, Finance or similar disciplines; advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 5 years of experience focused on sales strategy.
- 10 years of Business Development lifecycle and proposal process (Shipley process or similar) experience with USG government agencies.
- Proven track record of building relationships with senior customer executives in large or highly strategic accounts. Experience in managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solutions/engagements.
- Proven track record of delivering sales strategy and sales process improvements at large organizations focused on USG contracts.
- Proven track record driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts, and ensuring follow-through with verbal and written communication.
- Strong presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences and various levels of management.
- Demonstrates a Customer-centric leadership style and approach to internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an agile process.
- Knowledge and proven performance in strategic and financial analysis.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development, collaboration, and organizational alignment.
- This role requires up to 25% travel
- Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.

Compensation
Expected Salary: $190,000 - $210,000 per year
Versar Global Solutions is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the Company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's status protected by local, state, or federal law.
Location Requirements
The position will work 2-3 days a week in the DC office and other offices, as necessary. This role requires travel to customer sites and events, up to 20%-25% of workdays, depending on marketing requirements.
