Description

West Virginia University's Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design is seeking applications for a Temporary Field Crew Leader. This position will lead the summer carp monitoring field crew. This position will assure gear and personnel are ready, oversee field collections (ichthyoplankton surveys, juvenile carp trawls, community electrofishing), organize lab analysis of field samples and provide point of contact to principle investigator. Requires drivers license, comfort/experience hauling a trailer and driving a boat.

What you'll do:



  • Team organization and oversight
  • Lead field activities
  • oversee lab activities


Pay Grade:

Length of Assignment: 4 Months

Work Hours: 37.5 Hours per week

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Fisheries Biology or related field
  • Experience with fish ID and sampling, zooplankton sampling, boat trailering, boat driving.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Fish ID (preference for larval fish ID)
  • Plankton ID
  • Boat electrofishing

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
