The Department of Finance at the John Chambers College of Business & Economics, West Virginia University, invites qualified applicants for a Teaching Assistant Professor position within the area of Finance. This is a full-time, 9-month, benefits eligible, non-tenure-track appointment with an anticipated start date in Fall 2026.
Primary Responsibilities



  • Teach an average of eight courses per year at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, covering various topics in finance, including insurance, banking, financial planning, among others.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality curriculum delivery.
  • Actively contribute to departmental, college, and university service initiatives.
  • Participate in student mentoring, program development, and other academic activities.

Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field (e.g., Economics, Accounting, Financial Planning) is required.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the collegiate level.
  • A strong commitment to student success and academic engagement.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
