We are looking for a motivated individual to join our diverse team as a Buyer/Planner in Lafayette, LA. Join us and embark on a journey of success with a team dedicated to empowering you at every stage.

Schedule: 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday

Salary: $45,000 - $68,000/yr.

Buyer/Planner essential tasks:



  • Develop and execute global supplier strategies to improve service, quality, cost, delivery, and innovation.
  • Lead sourcing processes, negotiate contracts, and manage commercial relationships within assigned supplier portfolio.
  • Conduct market research and inventory planning to ensure materials and services meet operational needs.
  • Select and manage suppliers, handle purchasing activities, and expedite materials/services as needed.
  • Use ERP systems to determine material requirements, issue purchase/repair orders, and manage allocations.
  • Oversee inventory counts, adjustments, and routing of materials to align with production schedules.
  • Manage warranty and contract performance claims, ensuring appropriate documentation and compliance.
  • Monitor and improve supplier performance, including corrective actions and managing major supplier accounts.
  • Handle invoice discrepancies and support contract creation, negotiation, and ongoing management.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and support the company's Safety Management System initiatives.




Qualifications:



  • Minimum high school diploma with 4 years of related experience; 2 years required with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Proven experience managing a purchasing portfolio in a global, cross-functional environment with complex tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of industry dynamics, cost structures, contracts, and economic factors affecting procurement.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to influence decisions and manage conflict effectively.
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities and tight deadlines while achieving targeted cost savings.
