The Position
The Opportunity: As a member of the Facilitation Partner and Business Integration teams, this individual will bring their knowledge and experience to the mission of preparing Commercial Medical and Government Affairs colleagues to lead successfully. By collaboratively engaging with stakeholders and partners, the Facilitation Partner assesses learning needs to determine what learner experiences will address those needs. Responsibilities include developing and executing virtual and in-person training and learning curricula and ensuring that high-quality training materials, learning resources, and programs are developed and published or facilitated in line with desired business outcomes. Examples of these programs and resources include creating and leading a workshop on challenging conversations, facilitating interactive sessions on current managerial topics such as Prioritization or Building Trust, and equipping managers and employees to find and navigate through our many online resources. The individual in this position will have specific responsibility for co-leading the upskilling and ongoing education of individuals in the Peer Learning Leader Role and managing online learning vendor relationships and content. In addition to the programs they have developed, as a member of the team, the Facilitation Partner will co-facilitate a range of department workshops. The Facilitation Partner is also expected to lend their capabilities and energy to cross-department initiatives and projects. The key capabilities needed for this role include the ability to create effective learner experiences, facilitate programs virtually and in person, engage with stakeholders, collaborate well, identify learning needs, create website content, and bring a learner's mindset. Key accountabilities of this position include:
Invents new approaches to improve, enhance, or scale the delivery of learning particularly through the development of executive presence in leaders across GNE, new technologies (AI, etc). Serves as a change agent to drive strategic initiatives, technologies or transformation across the CMG organization. Actively solicits feedback to identify change barriers. Partners with other functions within LSD and CMG to remove change barriers and drive continuous improvement to internal processes, roles and technology. Develops in-depth learning or workshops that change behavior and focus on skills Strategize with Learning Business Partners (LBP) and Learning Design Architect (LDA) on the design and delivery medium, and ensure alignment within L&SD. Collaborate with stakeholders to interpret training requests, analyze root cause of business problems, and partner with Learning Business Partners and Learning Design to select, modify, and execute learning products. Partner with internal LSD teams to track and measure the effectiveness of training initiatives, including metrics related to AI fluency. Leverage these insights to expand successful strategies and address areas needing improvement, thereby ensuring continuous training enhancement. Actively engage with key influencers within CMG and L&SD, participating in internal project teams to contribute to strategic initiatives. Contribute innovative ideas in facilitation and certification to ensure the team remains at the forefront of industry practices. Deliver and deploy training (virtual or live) in business areas, adhering to L&SD standards and organizational objectives to drive employee effectiveness. Utilize strong presentation skills and executive presence to facilitate effective knowledge transfer and skill application Develop and execute certification strategies across all commercial field roles ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Incorporate diverse perspectives into learning and certification recommendations, and use feedback for continuous improvement. Develop and deliver train-the-trainer facilitation support, demonstrating expertise in logistics planning and workshop facilitation to positively influence training outcomes. Lead with adaptability and strong communication skills, actively engaging peers in decision-making processes and fostering a bias for action. Act on received feedback to enhance collaboration and utilize digital proficiency to improve learning experiences.
Who you are:
Bachelor's degree and at least five years of facilitation experience Experience working in life sciences, biotechnology, or related fields Experience delivering highly technical/scientific data to small and large groups Customer Engagement or Field-facing Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Program and project management skills to lead and/or manage work across teams/communities, across the enterprise, or with key business stakeholders Strong presentation, interpersonal communication, written communication, and facilitation skills to be used in national meetings, main stage, external events, and director-level meetings Demonstrated teamwork skills and a collaborative approach to work with colleagues interdependently to develop results for the business An excellent command of learning concepts and instructional design and delivery The ability to research, identify and implement best practices of learning design and delivery Strong negotiation and influencing skills; proven ability to influence without direct authority Ensure strict compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, including those pertaining to AI training and certifications.
Relocation benefits are not available for this position. The expected salary range for this position, based on the primary location of South San Francisco, California, is $141,500 - 262,900 USD. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
