Description

Basic Function:

Functions as a working member of the group and oversees safe, efficient performance of all duties related to fuel handling, aircraft refueling, deicing, porta-potties, and ground support equipment.

Vital Functions:



  1. Perform Lead functions: Assign and oversee work of others; provide on-the-job training; provide input on employee performance appraisals; fill in for Supervisor in his/her absence; function as a part of the working group; assist employees as needed; ensure proper use and handling of company equipment; troubleshoot/resolve mechanical/personnel problems; insure employees follow ABX rules, regulations and procedures.
  2. Perform and record quality control checks of all
  3. Set-up operation of fuel facility for receiving and dispensing
  4. Contain, cleanup and dispose of fuel spills in compliance with EPA
  5. Service ABX and customer aircraft and
  6. Inspect and ensure fuel trucks, fuel farms, deice facilities and related equipment is working properly and safely and record findings.
  7. Perform back-up function for Fueling Dispatchers when


Variable Functions:



  1. Maintain work area in a clean, safe and orderly.
  2. Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or G.E.D.; valid driver's license; one (1) year ABX type aircraft refueling experience; must be safety minded; effective organizational, interpersonal and communicative skills; effective math skills; ability to work with others; ability to maintain good records; mechanical aptitude, truck driving experience (carrying freight, fuel, etc.); ability to work without close supervision; knowledge of aircraft fuel/defuel systems, refueling procedures; ability to do aircraft deicing; knowledge of fuel farm operation and limited fuel farm truck maintenance; know procedures outlined in the Line Service Standard Practice Manual, know FAA requirements and spill protection; must have already, successfully completed training to operate DC-8 cockpit fueling panel. All experience is to be verifiable.

Physical Requirement/Working Conditions:

Ability to stoop, bend, manipulate tools in small spaces; work in adverse/outdoor weather conditions; wear a respirator/safety protective equipment as indicated; lift objects weighing various amounts up to 65 lbs. without assistance; perform work at heights.

Preferred Qualifications:

Fuel handling and fuel quality control experience; six (6) months Lead or Supervisory experience.
