POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

This position will support The Commander, Naval Air Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet (CNAL) and requires contractor support to provide continuing facilities program management services for multiple CNAL buildings.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate the recycling, safety and environmental programs to ensure prevention of inefficient and wasteful methods.
  • Inventory control of the hand tool and equipment program.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and work plans.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of all equipment, tools, replacement parts and consumables required to support projects and tasks Hurricane preparations.
  • Maintaining building exterior to include parking lots, gazebos, propane bottle storage and dumpsters, including recycling bins.
  • Some tasks may include painting interior and exterior.
  • Spray weed killer chemicals on all building perimeter all year round, tree trimming and lower branch removal.
  • May need to install traps for rodents and spray for bugs.
  • Building operation and maintenance to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Office cleaning, bathroom cleaning/sanitizing, vacuuming/damp mopping, empty trash containers.
  • Assisting staff personnel in various clerical/administrative duties, including set up, breakdown and cleanup for command ceremonies.
  • May need to operate a scissor lift on occasion.
  • Routinely checks all fire extinguishers and emergency lights and all emergency exits, making sure every safety code and procedures are observed.
  • Provide surveillance of all active facility trouble calls to NAVFAC.
  • Basic general equipment periodic maintenance.
  • Have a broad understanding of local building codes for Federal facilities.
  • Needed for escorting other uncleared contractors.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of facilities management experience.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge in field plumbing, carpentry, painting and demonstrate the safe use of a variety of basic hand tools and portable power tools.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willing to take responsibility for results while reliably showing good judgement, initiative, and resourcefulness
  • Work with a high degree of independence
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance.
  • This position is considered essential personnel and may be called in to work if needed.
  • Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
