JOB SUMMARY

Perform various accounting tasks related to the maintenance/processing of accounting records, invoices, and payments in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley standards.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Requires knowledge of accounting practices and procedures at a level generally acquired through one/two years of business/accounting school, accounting training, or at least 5 years of accounts payable and accounts receivable experience or equivalent combinations of experience and training.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS


  • Some overtime may be required.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Construction accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of the general ledger and cost accounting.


KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES


  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to perform with minimal supervision.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities, adjust to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) in dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Must maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Support the project manager
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and Adobe.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Submit weekly customer invoices and reports in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile accounts and research unusual activity.
  • Compute discounts, make sales/use tax determinations, and place invoices in line for payment.
  • Verify and process payments for customers/vendors.
  • Prepare various daily, weekly, monthly, and annual customer invoices and job-to-date reports.
  • Acts as a liaison with internal and external contacts and vendors.
  • Prepare and post revenue and expense transactions in the general ledger.
  • Reconcile, file, and pay sales/use tax to multiple jurisdictions
  • Support the project manager with job costing and expense reporting.
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
