Job Description Performance Contracting is seeking a motivated individual to join our growing employee-owned organization as an entry-level Associate Estimator for its PCI Southern Missouri 577 operations based in Springfield, MO. Job responsibilities include: Performing quantitative takeoffs on construction projects Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of PCI's self-performing group Learn about market conditions, including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work, and other factors for establishing margin percentages Be involved in the internal bid reviews with supervisors and project teams Participate in PSI's Customer Alignment objectives by creating and maintaining positive customer relations Learn the fundamentals of contract administration for secured projects Utilize wage and benefit schedules Assist in the hand-off of secured projects to the Operations team Assist in other duties as assigned such as change order management or billings depending on the project(s) Support other members of the Estimating team for product line collaboration Basic Requirements Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, a similar discipline, or comparable relevant work experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word) and Bluebeam Revu Possess working knowledge of estimating techniques and computer takeoff software Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain integrity in decision-making Ability to work effectively in a team environment Willingness to continue learning new technical skills and developing existing skillsets Strong customer service skills and relationship-building abilities Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative Works well under pressure and deadlines Must have critical-thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize and multitask while handling multiple projects concurrently Preferred Requirements Understanding of the bidding process and reading/interpreting specifications and drawings is a plus OSHA certification Local to greater Springfield, MO area Benefits At Performance Contracting, our employees are our greatest asset.
