Mortgage Loan Originator
The Mortgage Loan Originator converts mortgage leads received from the Bank, mainly from the Retail Bank and converts these leads into quality mortgage applications. Once the application is taken the main duty of the Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) is to work with the customer to get the loan approved and closed. The MLO position is also responsible for coaching the Retail Bank to submit quality leads to the Mortgage Team. Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct a thorough point of sale interview and application by telephone. Structure the application using creativity, product and underwriting knowledge so that the loan can be approved and closed.
- Create and maintain a referral relationship with Bank Partners with an emphasis on the Retail Bank that produces quality leads. Coaching would be provided both informally while giving the referral source a status update on their lead and formally by phone at District Meetings and Banking Center Huddles.
- Maintain a working knowledge of industry trends, product parameters and compliance guidelines to ensure that the maximum numbers of leads are converted into applications and closed loans.
- Pipeline Management to ensure that leads are called timely and applications move to closed loans. When done properly this will increase both conversion rate and future referrals.
Position Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience in retail or financial sales
- 1 year of experience in Banking or financial services
- 1 year of experience utilizing Microsoft Office Products including Word and Excel
Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days
Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday
