Job Family Description

Maintenance/production personnel support the operational success of nuclear and non-nuclear facilities, buildings, systems, and shops. Professionals in these roles are responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of equipment, machinery, and production processes to meet quality, safety, and productivity standards.

Discipline Description

Electrical and Instrumentation Control (E&IC) personnel are responsible for the implementation, operation, and maintenance of instrument/electrical systems. They troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical equipment and solve technical problems in nuclear facility settings

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

Performs the installation and maintenance of simple mechanical equipment. Assists under the close supervision of qualified mechanics with moderately complex maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment. Attends classroom, on-the job, and other types of training as deemed necessary by line management.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Work from approved standard and special procedures. Perform simple or routine maintenance activities based on skills and knowledge attained from training and previous experience. Obtain guidance from more experienced or higher grade level mechanics and supervision when the condition warrants. Complete work orders, service requests and stores orders.
Follow/comply with applicable Safety and RadCon policies and procedures. Assemble simple mechanical apparatus from material and parts following instructions. Perform simple mechanical tasks such as painting, tool crib custodian, basic carpentry, safety inspections, carpet installation, ceiling tile installation, repacking valves and minor piping repair. Assist more experienced and higher grade level mechanics with the installation, inspection and maintenance of moderately complex mechanical equipment, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and allied equipment. Operate motorized vehicles
and associated equipment within licensing limits. Perform incidental rigging on equipment. May be required to perform specific operations functions where specific module training has been provided. Perform administrative functions such as read and understand manuals and procedures. Other administrative functions as needed to perform job. Perform work functions such as attend and successfully complete classroom, on-the-job training, lectures, seminars and other forms of training. Other duties as assigned by supervision. May be required to complete Advanced Rad Worker Training (ARWT) and
perform task-specific RCI functions.

Required Qualifications

* Candidates must have completed ACT WorkKeys Skills assessment and achieved minimum scores of 2 in Workplace Observation, 3 in Graphic Literacy, and 4 in Applied Technology or the following WIN Assessments - Work Ready Data Level 3; Work Ready Math Level 3; and Work Ready Reading Level 3.
* Test scores must be within the last five
years. (Official documentation must be provided to the company for consideration of employment. Results must be uploaded into BrassRing on the ATTACHMENTS page at the time the application is submitted online).

*Associates Degree in one of the following or equivalent: Electronic Engineering Technology, Electronic Instrumentation Technology, Industrial Electronics
Technology, Electromechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance OR four years of related experience or training equivalent to qualification standards.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
