Position Summary

The position of Remote Center Subsea Specialist in SSR Subsea Robotics exists for the purpose of carrying out remote ROV operations in the Onshore Remote Operations Center (OROC). The position will support all remote ROV operations on Oceaneering projects, drilling rigs and other vessels of opportunity. This is a Morgan City, Louisiana land-based opportunity, which may include working at other global sites and a limited amount of offshore work. This will be a rotational position, 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off, 12 hours per day.


Duties And Responsibilities
  • Extensive understanding of various and most ROV scopes carried out offshore to support O&G customers.
  • Experience working on ROV construction vessels.
  • Review procedures and communicate with offshore team members, internal & external clients, and 3rd party SMEs to carry out work tasks in a safe, professionally, and efficient manner.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and enthusiasm towards completing client / project scopes of work.
  • Work at regular 12-hour rotations from the OROC center onshore Morgan City
  • Flexibility, willingness to assist other shore-based departments as required during periods of inactivity in remote work.
  • Candidate should be technical in general / able to troubleshoot PC, IT, hardware / software challenges methodically to include upgrades, testing, and repair via guidance & recommendation from remote technical support centers.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Five (5) years in the offshore industry performing ROV related scopes.
  • Two (2) years minimum experience working with Oceaneering ROV systems supporting offshore O&G scopes.
  • Strong piloting skill set / comfortable working under critical path higher pressure situations.

DESIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with various ROV scopes to include dual ROV construction vessel, drill support, and completions.
  • Local candidates who will not require travel expense reimbursement.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is considered OFFICE WORK with some characterized as follows:

  • Majority of work anticipated to be indoors during the day and night
  • Occasional onshore shop work (Indoords & Outdoors) to support other departments as required during inactive remote piloting opportunities.
  • Humidity is commonly above 90% for outdoor scopes, noise can be over 85db.
  • Temperature for outdoor work commonly ranges from 35 deg to 90 deg depending on time of year
