Job Objective:

The Finance Accounting Assistant is responsible for the vendor payment and customer invoicing processes. This position shares responsibility with other Accounting Assistants and is also responsible for assisting the assigned General/Operating/Trust Accountant with accurate and timely maintenance and processing of accounts, certain bank reconciliations, unclaimed property filings, 1099 process, journal entries, or other duties as required.

Essential Functions:



  • Responsible for accurately recording, organizing, and paying vendor invoices in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Assists the Operating Accountant in the completion of supplemental reports pertaining to the bank reconciliation and unclaimed property process.
  • Assists the General Fund Accountant in compiling reports, quarterly vendor reconciliation and participate as needed in the yearly 1099 process.
  • Review and process all accounts receivable invoicing, both internally and externally, including maintaining an up-to-date statement review.
  • Assist the respective accountant with account reconciliation and resolution by initiating correcting journal entries.
  • Calculate and communicate investment earnings in compliance with the approved spending policy as requested.
  • Assist with month end report production and distribution.
  • Assist in mailroom, according to the rotation schedule.



Minimum Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

Education:

Associate degree in general business or related field or equivalent work experience

Experience:

5 years working in accounts payable/receivable

Ledger account reconciliation, preferred.

Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite

Knowledge of Acumatica preferred

OR: Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Supervisory Responsibility:

No supervisory responsibility.

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the duties of this job. Physical requirements include good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity. Also requires bending, squatting, and walking. May occasionally require standing for extended periods, lifting, pulling, and pushing of materials up to twenty-five pounds.

Travel:

No travel required.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a typical office environment. Full-time position may require some weekend and evening work and travel
