Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager, Operations & Logistic.
The Manager, Operations & Logistics will oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations and logistics within the Manhattan Clinical Equipment Service Center at NYU Langone Health.This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of materials, equipment, and supplies to meet the operational needs of the department and ensure clinical equipment is readily available for patient care. In addition to managing daily operations, the Manager will lead and support project-based initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, improving inventory management systems, streamlining workflows, and spearheading process improvement. The Manager, Operations & Logistics will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including clinical staff, clinical engineering management and technicians, supply chain, MCIT, and vendors, to optimize logistics operations and support the Clinical Engineering Department.
Job Responsibilities:
Clinical Engineering Welcome Desk:
- Oversee Equipment Logistics Associate staff
- Manage the daily operations of the Equipment & Logistics Check-In desk in the Manhattan Clinical Equipment Service Center
- Logistics and Inventory Management:
- Oversee Logistics Coordinator staff
- Oversee the management and organization of parts and supplies needed to effectively service medical equipment
- Develop and implement efficient processes for the procurement, tracking, and distribution of supplies and equipment
- Ensure inventory levels are accurately maintained and materials are available when needed for clinical operations and departmental projects
- Vendor Relations and Procurement:
- Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers as needed in order to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of biomedical parts & supplies
- Monitor vendor performance and address any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing
- Partner with Supply Chain and Finance for vendor management and/or escalation
Operational Support and Coordination: - Partner with Clinical Engineering Management team and technicians to ensure equipment is addressed and returned to service in a timely manner
- Collaborate with clinicians and other department stakeholders to understand material and equipment needs, providing logistical support for new projects or clinical initiatives
- Assist with the transportation, installation, and decommissioning of biomedical devices as required
Compliance and Regulatory Standards: - Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including safety, quality control, and health standards for biomedical equipment and materials
- Work with the clinical engineering and safety teams to develop and maintain protocols for the safe handling, storage, and disposal of biomedical materials
Team Leadership and Development: - Lead, train, and mentor a team of logistics staff to ensure efficient workflow and professional growth
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting open communication and teamwork across departments
- Develop and implement performance metrics and goals for the logistics team to drive continuous improvement
Reporting and Documentation: - Develop and maintain policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to logistics management
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and supply chain activities
- Prepare regular reports on inventory status, procurement activities, and budget management for the department head
- Ensure proper documentation is in place for all logistical activities in compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Develop and maintain operational and logistical monitoring reports as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years in related field with at least 3 years in logistics or supply chain management, preferably within a biomedical, healthcare, or academic setting
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors
- In-depth knowledge of inventory management systems and logistics operations
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards for biomedical equipment and materials
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to address logistical challenges and improve workflows
- Ability to manage change and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably within a biomedical,healthcare, or academic setting
- Project management experience
- Experience managing inventory and procurement processes for biomedical equipment and supplies is highly desirable.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 - $135,541.73 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
