Position Summary

Oceaneering International is seeking a Network Administrator to partner on a large enterprise IT contract for the DOD. The Network Administrator provides technical network administration and operations. This role maintains enterprise network infrastructure to ensure proper configuration, availability, performance, capacity, and maintenance (including application of the latest patches and upgrades). This role monitors technology obsolescence, manages upgrades, and evaluates alternatives across on-premises and IT infrastructures, both virtual and physical.
The qualified candidate will be a part of a small, agile, embedded team that provides on-site support to include system administration, network administration, information assurance, communication, and infrastructure. Embedded personnel are considered mission essential.


Duties And Responsibilities

This role is responsible for all aspects of network administration including servers, desktop systems, communications hardware/software, and office systems.

ESSENTIAL:

  • Perform network administration including backup, security management, user account management, e-mail systems including e-mail web server, internet access, office systems and applications support.
  • Support server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications.
  • Perform technology needs analysis.
  • Roll out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources.
  • Plan, implement, and support the network and computing infrastructure plan.
  • Perform hands-on cable routing and hardware maintenance.
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices.
  • Implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of an Information Technology (IT) system that includes Windows Active Directory, Windows2008/2008R2/2012 Server, Exchange 2007/2010, SMTP, Windows 7/8/10, and Microsoft Office suites within a closed environment.
  • Install, configure and maintain client and 3rd party product components. Ensure the design and development of integrated business, engineering systems, and products support the
  • achievement of the client's business goals.
  • Support security authorization activities in compliance with NIST 800-53/CNSSI1253 and the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Respond to system failures and work with vendors to resolve issues related to hardware and software and other troubleshooting issues.
  • Perform regularly scheduled hardware and software maintenance and security patches, as well as database and file system backups.
  • Monitor and track trouble tickets and change requests to ensure high quality customer service.
  • Prepare detailed systems administration plans and level of effort estimates for project deadlines; provide detailed bill of materials and cost estimates for new hardware and software or upgrades to and maintenance of existing hardware and software.
  • Develop and update technical solutions, operations, and maintenance documentation for personnel.
  • Data center support including racking and cabling diverse equipment.
  • Interfaces with users and/or network vendors.
  • Work independently and as a team member.
  • Management and maintenance of switches, routers, firewalls, and administration of network security.
  • Individual contributor that works under limited supervision.
  • Determines approach to work, monitored / supervised based on key objective check-ins.
  • Lead assignments for specific job function or projects.
  • Lead entry level individual contributors to ensure the work completion as per set standards and procedures.

ADDITIONAL

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Travel (~ two weeks annually)
  • Scheduled weekly hours: 40
  • Day shift - With occasional afterhours and weekends (< 3%)

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Must have 2-6 years of relevant experience with associate's degree in information technology, Network Administration, Computer Science. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Basic cybersecurity knowledge.
  • Work Environment - IT Infrastructure program, preferably for the US Government.
  • Oral and written communication for change procedures, and management updates.
  • Domain and expert technical knowledge.
  • Experience working independently on technical network activities in support of a client
  • Current experience as an Administrator on a medium sized network of servers, desktop systems, and communications devices using current technologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability in:
    • Windows servers and desktop products.
    • Setting up remote user access.
    • Administering node network, including firewalls.
    • Supporting networked printers and photocopiers.
  • Working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies.
  • Experience with hardening Microsoft Windows servers and desktops in line with DISA STIGs and DoD IA policy.
  • Experience with Vulnerability Scanning and Continuous Monitoring Tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Group Policy configuration and administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Group Policies, File Security, Domain Name System (DNS), Domain and LAN administration.
  • Experience with external Storage Systems and Backup Solutions such as BackupExec.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2014, Microsoft IIS 7, Linux.
  • Experience with Dell, NetApp, Cisco, and VMware products.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Security + (CISSP suitable substitute).
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TS security clearance, be able to take/pass a polygraph, and be able to maintain both for the tenure of this position.
  • Position tenure ship is dependent on completing the full security clearance application process successfully within 1-2 years of accepting position.
  • Must have all required IT / Security certifications and maintain for the tenure of this position.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

DESIRED:

  • Specialized certification (i.e. MCSE, A+, CISCO)
  • Industry: DoD, HHS, CMS, SSA, NIH, FDA or similar Federal Agency
