The Materials Coordinator I is responsible for coordinating the systemic transfer of raw materials, parts, and finished products between various production areas and internal and/or external warehouses. This role performs clerical duties of an intermediate difficulty requiring some analysis, exercise of judgment and knowledge of company and/or department procedures. Specific work performed can include work with data and spreadsheets, stock and issue materials, and interface with Production and Materials team members. Standard Monday - Friday schedule, but occasional overtime may be required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Responsible for creating and updating manufacturing orders/ production routers, issuing parts and accurate inventory control. * Count material, equipment, or supplies as requested in stock and posts totals to inventory records. * Compare inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory. * Act as liaison between Materials and Production Control teams * Verify clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies. * Prepare reports such as manufacturing order receipts, cost summaries, and shortage. * Prepares a list of depleted items and recommends a survey of defective or unusable items. * Process Engineering Change Notices and ad hoc part requisitions * Check work and documents for accuracy and completeness * Locate and extract information from files or online locations as requested * Immediately report all safety incidents/accidents, no matter how small, to their supervisor. * May participate in weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual physical inventories by entering data into the system and supporting the overall inventory process. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write notes and memos. * Must possess math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure. * Demonstrate ability to speak clearly to be understood in one-on-one conversations. * Strong problem-solving skills to assess product output relative to specifications. * Basic computer and operating systems knowledge. * Support an optimized production environment by applying the principles of Lean Manufacturing and 5S. Education and/or Experience: * 3 - 5 years of experience with manufacturing, purchasing, inventory, or related functions. * High School Diploma or GED. Physical Demands: * Physical ability to climb stairs, bend, sit, stand, walk, reach with arms, push, pull and use hands and fingers to feel and handle material for extended timeframes. * Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly and regularly. Includes the ability to stoop, squat, crawl, and kneel as needed.
