Corrections Food Service Instructor - SCI Albion

This role serves as a lead worker by assigning, participating in, and reviewing routine and specialized tasks performed by inmates in the areas of pre-preparation, production, service, and baking. You will instruct inmates on meal preparation according to recipes, ensuring timely preparation and serving of meals, as well as establish and maintain effective working relationships that will enable inmates to learn the standard principles and practices of food service operations.

Work also involves ensuring proper control over inmates by enforcing custody and security regulations and inspect all food service areas, equipment, and food for conformance with established safety and sanitation standards. Apply today and make a meaningful impact with us!

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment (40 hours per week)
• Work hours to be determined (5:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM). Days off to be determined during the hiring process.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,986.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

• Successful completion of Basic Training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
