Operations & Fleet Services Team
This is a 3-year, full-time (40 hours/week), on-site contract role located in Garner, NC.
Summary
This dual-role position supports a busy fleet services operation through a combination of administrative coordination and inventory management. The role is essential in ensuring seamless service support, efficient inventory practices, and timely vehicle maintenance operations.
Our Ideal Candidate
3+ years of experience in automotive parts or inventory management
Passion for operations and logistics with a strong foundation in administrative coordination and inventory control
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with strong organizational and time management skills
Familiar with inventory platforms, enterprise systems (e.g., Maximo, MyTime), and procurement workflows
Skilled in collaborating with technicians, supervisors, and supply chain stakeholders
Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, timelines, and operational demands
Strong written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to detail
Forklift certification (or ability to obtain and maintain), and valid driver's license
Job Description
In this role, you will support both administrative and technical aspects of fleet operations.
You'll partner with technicians, supervisors, and materials management to ensure timely procurement, accurate data entry, and seamless workflow. This includes:
Processing invoices and expense reports
Managing timekeeping entries and credit card reconciliations
Supporting onboarding, travel, facilities requests, and internal communications
Ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing inventory and non-stock items
Conducting cycle counts, bin management, and warranty processing
Maintaining inventory systems and service data accuracy
Coordinating maintenance kits, fleet tags, and inspections
Supporting storm readiness logistics and mobile fleet inventory management
You will also monitor vendor performance, assist with building operations support, and ensure effective storeroom operations-contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of the fleet services team.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma/GED
Background in fleet operations, inventory control, or administrative services
Preferred: familiarity with Power BI, Maximo, and service/maintenance platforms
Additional Requirements
This opportunity is located in Garner, NC and requires on-site work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $21.10 - $21.83 per hour. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
