POSITION SPECIFICS Penn State Altoona is in search of a student-focused, team-oriented Recreation and Involvement Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have experience in building community and event planning with/for college students. The Recreation and Involvement Coordinator will be a part of the Athletics team at Penn State Altoona and will collaborate heavily with Student Leadership and Involvement. The design, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of the holistic development of students will be done collaboratively with a student development and retention mindset. The coordinator will develop initiatives and events that foster engagement and build a sense of community for all students. This position will be a lead for recreation-based student programming. This is an in-person position and work hours may vary based on student programs, meetings, and events; the schedule during the fall and spring semesters will follow a Tuesday -Saturdaypattern, hours typically Weekday 2:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m., Weekends 1:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m, summer hours will be determined with supervisor, primarily based on the needs of youth sports camps. MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: NoneBACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
