Advanced Assembly, Inc. (AAI), located in University Research Park on the west side of Madison, is looking to add a Shipping Clerk to our well-trained and experienced staff. Advanced Assembly, Inc. is an electronics manufacturing services provider of electronic assemblies and products, including the Captioned Telephone (CapTel). This full-time position offers a first shift schedule of Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, a competitive starting wage and a full benefits package. Wage depending on experience. New Employees - Sign-On Bonus: The company is offering a $1,500 sign-on bonus to newly-hired, full-time employees. The bonus will be paid on the first check following successful completion of the employee's 90-day probationary period.

Job Summary: The Shipping Clerk assists with incoming and outgoing shipments, ensures that all orders are filled correctly, keeps track of inventory in the area, assists with daily stocking levels, and assists with tracking the date of delivery and all pertinent information involved in the process.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: (Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign and reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time).



  • Verify and keep inventory records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipments.
  • Compare identifying information, counts, weights, or measurements of items for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records, and track date of delivery and all other pertinent information involved.


  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by primary supervisor.


Requirements:



  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Clean and valid driver's license preferred with reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand both verbal and written instructions in the English language.
  • Shipping experience with UPS World ship and/or Fed Ex Manager is preferred.
  • Fork lift and pallet jack experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
  • Experience with ERP systems or the willingness to learn is required.
  • Organized self-starter with the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow established product handling procedures while complying with safety and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) guidelines.
  • Ability to work with Sales team to keep daily shipments on track.
  • Ability to professionally communicate via telephone and email.

  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand in one area for long periods of time, with minimal breaks. Ability to lift up to 25lbs on a regular basis and up to 50lbs occasionally. Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and carry heavy objects.


  • Work Environment: Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risk, such as operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals.
