STS Technical Services is hiring an Electrical Engineer to join the TICO Manufacturing team in Ridgeland, South Carolina. In this role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to support the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems used in commercial vehicles. Position Overview

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and components. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver with experience in CAD software, schematic development, and lean manufacturing environments. This role requires excellent communication skills, technical expertise, and a passion for innovation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and test functional electrical systems for commercial vehicles
  • Develop and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Research, select, and specify components for electrical systems
  • Support the installation and troubleshooting of electrical equipment
  • Supervise manufacturing processes related to electrical systems
  • Perform quality inspections and confirm system functionality
  • Develop and maintain detailed product documentation and BOMs
  • Assist in the design and testing of new products and systems
  • Create 2D schematics and 3D component models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Modify and manage existing drawings and CAD files
  • Participate in lean initiatives including Kaizen events and value stream mapping
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and product development teams
  • Stay current on industry trends, technical developments, and compliance standards
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts within the electrical engineering department

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and 3D modeling software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Strong understanding of electronic systems and component materials
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze problems and propose innovative solutions
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Capable of working independently and within collaborative teams
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including fabrication, welding, and assembly
  • Comfortable interpreting engineering drawings and technical manuals
  • Familiar with algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and higher-level mathematics

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in an electrical engineering role
  • Experience with vehicle systems, manufacturing environments, or lean engineering is a plus

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based with occasional work on warehouse or production floors
  • PPE required only when working in non-office environments

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands, and reach with arms
  • Occasionally required to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
