A successful candidate will be passionate to provide exceptional guest service and ensures passengers' safe, legal, and efficient flow through the busiest airport in Wisconsin.

This role exists to ensures the Airport maintains compliance with 14 CFR Part139, and 49 CFR Part1542. Performs daily inspections to enforce and ensure the facilities and airfield are within applicable standards; represents airport management after-hours until relieved by higher authority. The position exists to comply with Federal Aviation Administration, Transportation Security Administration, and Airport Rules and Regulations that are required to operate a commercial airport.

Your role includes:



  • Conduct daily inspections of airfield and airport facilities. Ensuring compliance with Federal, State, County and Airport policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and ordinances. Additionally, providing on-the-job training for new employees.
  • Coordinate snow removal efforts on airfield and airport facilities - Make sound decisions based on established procedures and resolve issues in professional manner.
  • Coordinate airport construction and maintenance airfield projects - Anticipate consequences of airfield construction/repair projects relative to maintaining airport, airfield safety and operational needs.
  • Respond to incidents and accidents of various types and size as a second responder - Take charge until relieved by higher authority, investigate cause and take appropriate measures to correct. Make sound and timely decisions under stressful conditions.
  • Prepares and completes various reports and documentation, writing clear, concise, and comprehensive accounts of events at the airport.
  • Coordinate VIP movements and special operations/events. Anticipate the impact that large crowds and special VIP handling requests may have on normal airport operations.
  • Respond to terminal, facility, and security incidents as needed when dispatched.
  • Meet with airport users and tenants to professionally resolve operational issues and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external agencies, while making sound decisions based on established procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Required Qualifications:



  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Valid Driver's License at time of application with the ability to obtain a Wisconsin driver's license within six (6) months of hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • Candidates with any one of the below minimum qualifications will be considered:


    • High School Diploma/GED and at least 3 (Three) years of aviation experience.
    • Bachelor's degree in aviation management, Business Administration, or Public Administration with no experience.


  • The ability to lift/carry up to 30lbs and push/pull up to 20lbs on an occasional basis.


Preferred Experience:



  • Airport Movement Area Driving Experience


Background Check:

Must undergo a criminal history background check to maintain security clearance for unescorted access to secured areas of the airport.

Hourly Pay Range: $29.28 - $34.28

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands: standing, sitting, reaching, driving, hearing, talking, visual and typing

Non-Physical Demands: communication/interpretation, sustained mental activity: auditing, problem solving, composing reports, reading, and writing.

Environmental Demands: high volume public contact, loud noises, and physical danger

Demands/Deadlines: cyclical work pressures or occasional exposure of distressed individuals within the immediate work environment; work requires frequent, substantive contacts with people in highly stressful situations; delicacy and unpredictability of contacts routinely create considerable strain or heavy stress regularly.

Work Schedule: considerable irregularity of hours due to frequent overtime, weekend, or shift rotation.

Note: This Original Examination is open to all qualified applicants authorized to work in the United States. The incumbent must establish residency in Wisconsin within six (6) months of appointment and maintain such residency throughout their incumbency. The selection process will be job related and will consist of one or more of the following: education and experience evaluation; written, oral, or performance tests, or other assessment methods.
