We are actively seeking a DIRECTOR OF CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION for an immediate opening in our Chicagoland office, with HQ in Elgin, IL. The Director of Contract Administration manages all activities related to IHC contracts. This involves developing, negotiating, and implementing contracts, ensuring contract compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, assessing any risk, and effectively leading the contract administration team. Key Responsibilities: Overseeing the entire contract lifecycle: Develops, monitors, and communicates the entire contract management process, from initial proposal development to contract execution, administration, and completion/termination, and ensures a consistent and efficient workflow for all key stakeholders. Managing Insurance requirements: Understands IHC's insurance policies and Owner contract specifications for insurance and bonding requirements. Monitors sub/vendor policies for contract compliance. Managing contract negotiations: Represents the organization's interests and negotiates favorable terms. Maintains accurate and up-to-date contract documentation, including records of changes, amendments, and correspondence. Assessing and managing contract risks: Identifies potential issues and develops mitigation strategies. Ensuring contract compliance: Fully understands all contract terms and conditions. Verifies that all contractual obligations are met and that all legal and regulatory requirements are satisfied. Monitors performance throughout the life of the contract, and keeps key stakeholders informed about contract status, challenges, and notable successes. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders: Building trust and fostering collaboration. Keeping abreast of industry trends and legal developments: Stays informed about changes in contract law and best practices related to the construction industry. Required Skills and Qualifications: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: To assess contract risks and develop solutions. Excellent communication and negotiation skills: To effectively communicate with stakeholders and negotiate contracts. Meticulous attention to detail and superior organizational skills: To ensure compliance and accuracy in the management of contracts and effectively and efficiently communicate with stakeholders. Knowledge of contract law and principles: To ensure compliance and manage risks. Project management skills: To effectively manage multiple contracts and ensure timely completion. Leadership and management skills: To lead and motivate a team. Integrity and professionalism: Upholds the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all contract dealings. Software skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a requirement. Familiarity with contract management systems (to help with tracking, storing, and managing contracts throughout their lifecycle) and with Viewpoint is a plus. Preferred education/experience: A bachelor's degree in business or a related field, and/or several years of experience in contract management in the construction industry.
