BASIC FUNCTION:

The Senior Financial Strategy Analyst reports to the Head of Financial Strategy and is a key contributor on the Finance team. This role assists in the effort to plan Capital & ALM strategies, developing and monitoring methodology for pricing products, evaluating various investments or internal products/programs, as well as evaluating other strategic opportunities that arise.

In your capacity as a Senior Financial Strategy Analyst, you will be expected to evaluate the financial data, market trends, and risk factors that influence agricultural lending portfolios and other investment opportunities. Based on the Board of Directors' risk appetite and performance objectives, you will assist in the creation of strategic plans that will optimize the risk/return tradeoff for the association and its agricultural customers. Furthermore, the position will necessitate that you remain informed about developments in the industry and regulatory changes in order to ensure compliance and adjust strategies accordingly. This will ultimately contribute to the Association's long-term financial stability and growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Analyze market conditions and trends to identify opportunities and risks in fixed income securities or other mission related investment opportunities.
  • Execute buy and sell orders for securities or provide financial analysis/recommendations to other types of investments.
  • Assist with portfolio analytics and portfolio projections.
  • Assist in capital planning which includes advising on capital strategies.
  • Assume secondary review function of ALM/Funding strategies.
  • Assist in creating strategies and reporting on product pricing and profitability models.
  • Portfolio and product risk adjusted return hurdle rate determination and evaluations.
  • Merger partner criteria, preparation, targeting.
  • RBIC (Private Equity) evaluation and facilitate capital calls.
  • Evaluate business environment trends to include industry benchmarking.
  • Develop, review and maintain various policies and procedures documents.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Monitor regulatory developments affecting Association & adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Develop and facilitate training on various financial topics

LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:

Reports to the Head of Financial Strategy and exercises no supervision. Works under the general direction of the Head of Financial Strategy.

TYPICAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, business or other related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of professional experience in a financial/investment analysis type role.
  • Skilled in using software and IT to collect, organize, retrieve, maintain, and share data for reporting and analysis. Capable of leveraging technology effectively in both routine and complex situations.
  • Ability to translate complex Finance and Investment concepts for non-finance stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Proficient with Bloomberg Terminal and related tools
  • Knowledge of Ad Hoc reporting and analytics tools. Experience analyzing large or complex data sets and making recommendations based on the results of the analysis.
  • Exceptional ability to make sound decisions involving varied levels of risks and ambiguity.Able to balance competing priorities and short lead-times.
  • Continuous Learning: Takes initiative for learning and development by acquiring and refining of technical and professional skills needed in job related areas; proactively seeks performance feedback and identifies approaches to improve own performance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; persuasive and inspiring communicator with excellent public speaking skills.
  • Desire and ability to travel, up to 10-15%, is required.
FULL-TIME REMOTE: These roles and job functions can be done remotely, while maintaining our strong commitment to customer service and our business goals. Employees are welcome to come to an office to work if needed, and some travel for team meetings will be required.

PAY RANGE:

Minimum $94,242.51 - Max $160,212.26 Annual

This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

  • Reflected is the national base pay range and title offered for this job at the current level.

  • Compensation, title, and job level may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.

  • Salary offered, within the applicable range, is one component of the total rewards package offered to candidates.
