Job Summary
The Logistics and Facilities Manager oversees the activities and compliance requirements for the maintenance and purchase of company assets, including raw materials and the facilities equipment and grounds. They ensure that manufacturing equipment and facilities are maintained reliably to meet company goals.
Essential Functions
- Purchase and maintain inventory of supplies, materials and equipment
- Research raw materials, components, and equipment necessary for project requirements
- Request competitive quotes from multiple vendors and contractors for raw goods and building maintenance
- Negotiate contracts or services with suppliers and vendors
- Prepare, process, track and monitor purchase orders; communicate any delays and/or constraints
- Maintain electronic records of vendor information, including pricing
- Manage service/repair providers to ensure they adhere to Prototek's safety guidelines and company policies.
- Collaborate with Managers for scheduling repairs on production equipment
- Process vendor returns; coordinate with office personnel as needed
- Arrange for disposal, storage or return of surplus and waste materials
- Maintain safety compliance and promote safe working behaviors within the company; lead by example, by wearing all required PPE
- Assist with building maintenance and maintenance scheduling as needed
- Schedule maintenance, projects, and repairs for minimal downtime for production
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge
- Perform other duties as assigned
Technical and Behavioral Competencies

- Proficient knowledge of supply chain logistics, procurement, and project management.
- Proficient knowledge of problem-solving skills and continuous improvement methodologies and tools
- Proficient knowledge of industry materials, applications, and technologies
- Proficient knowledge of reading designs, prints, and other technical drawings/files
- Proficient knowledge of ERP systems: preferably MIE Trak
- Proficient computer literacy, including Microsoft Office

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 5 - 10 years' experience in a similar role managing facilities or equipment.
- Basic knowledge/prior experience with electrical, plumbing, and janitorial maintenance.
- Fork truck certified: Fork truck trainer certificate preferred
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, equipment, hand/power tools, etc., and handle, feel parts of various sizes.
- Ability to bend, kneel, and crouch moderately throughout workday
- Ability to push, pull or lift up to 75-100 lbs. moderately throughout workday,
- Ability to access and navigate all areas of the facilities
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE when required
- Manufacturing environment where temperatures drastically change from season to season
- Exposure to extremes in weather
- Work environment exposures include fumes or airborne particles
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and electricity
- Fast-paced environment
Work Hours/Travel:
- 40 hours a week Monday - Friday
- Overtime as necessary
