Velosity Forest Lake is searching for a Facilities Custodian to support our Forest Lake, MN location. The Facilities Custodian will troubleshoot and repair production equipment.

The typical pay range for this role: $16.36 - $24.54/hour. This role is also eligible for our 5% quarterly bonus target.

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

This position includes a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

This is an on-site position supporting our Forest Lake location.

Shift: 2nd - Monday - Friday, 3:30pm - 11:30pm.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, technical school education or equivalent experience
  • Licensing/Registration/Certification: Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States; must possess a valid driver's license.
  • 3 Years experience as a custodian.
  • Must be able to multitask; run one or more jobs at the same time while completing them on time; professional communication between coworkers and other departments; basic computer skills.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning procedures, and minor maintenance tasks.

Essential Functions:

  • Cleans a variety of surfaces including all types of floors, walls, windows, furniture and office partitions. Adheres to specific procedures and regulations regarding the cleaning of special areas and equipment.
  • Maintains restrooms by cleaning and disinfecting toilets, sinks, urinals, partitions, mirrors and walls. Replenishes supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap, etc.
  • Collects trash and transports it to designated locations. May also sort, separate and transport recyclable materials.
  • Utilizes a variety of cleaning tools and equipment such as mops, pails, vacuum cleaners and push carts. Follows applicable safety precautions for the use and handling of various chemicals and cleaning agents.
  • May assist with floor care operations such as stripping, sealing refinishing and buffing.
  • May perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, painting, and minor plumbing and carpentry tasks.
  • Monitors the grounds and parking lots around the facility, picks up litter, etc.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Walking and stair climbing is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to stand for long periods of time while performing typical job responsibilities. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and move heavier objects in a safe manner using proper equipment. Must have dexterity with hands.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner; Ability to make decisions with limited information. Ability to work under a high stress level while meeting customer needs.

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional tool shop with normal lighting, and climate control. This position requires the employee to work on a manufacturing floor where they may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors.

Protective Clothing Required:

When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
